AHS Service Plan for September 2021

September 08, 2021
By Sloan Mahoney

The students at Andrean work for justice through acts of kindness based on the seven themes of Catholic social teaching. In past years, each student was required to complete 20 hours of service which would go towards their grade in Theology. This year we have changed the community service requirement so students can select their method of participation. Each month a list of opportunities will be available to hand-select for their Theology grade.

The theme of this year's service program is The Principles of Catholic Teaching. For September we will be focusing on Rights and Responsibilities.

During September, we are holding a school supply drive for our neighbors at Longfellow Elementary School. Longfellow is currently in need of items for some of their students. The wish list includes:

  • Any school supplies
  • Books (new and used)
  • Clothes and Coats (new and used)
  • athletic equipment (new or used)

Current students can drop off donations in Theology class. Parents or alumni can make donations in the Main Office. For questions or more information on how to participate in our drive, contact dmaldonado@andreanhs.com.

Bringing Justice Through Kindness

Micah 6:8 What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.
